topsy turvy

last week was pretty awesome. though we didnt have symphonic band prac. results came out midweek, not too bad. had jazz band practices to compensate. the extra sessions were mainly for the PSG performance on saturday morning. it went pretty well.


we played in a corner. background music luh. had fun with the band. we performed ~Bye Bye Black Bird ~Beyond The Sea ~Meditation ~Old Devil Moon ~Fly Me To The Moon.the band: debby on the keyboards, me on the alto, matt on bass, jaslyn on the tenor and leonard on drums. afterwards in the afternoon played again, this time mainly debby providing soothin melodies. haha.


i was glad monday resumed band prac! woo. though saxy section olny got me elliot clement and chloe. but had a reasonably good workout. mr chiang went through west side story and la forza.

on tuesday teehsien invited me to his class chalet. was planning to stay overnight but outta the blue received the call that i got the job i applied for nearly a month ago. without thinking i juz grabbed it. hahaha.


so today i started out my first day. F/B insdustry so i was practically on my feet for half a day. okay luh. not too bad. finished shift for the day at 2 then headed to sch for the stage performance workshop. pretty awesome time too. picked up good pointers here and there. gonna continue the program tmr till fri. =D


went straight to the symphonic room round 5. started to work on individual pieces. it was sectionals today. only other saxes were yanling and liyi, and they left at 745. Zzzz. so more or less juz went through all the pieces and drilled on the challenging parts till say 815. gettin a lil dull with so few ppl. kovie left together with the girls. gris fell sick. the rest didnt come. beh. and my phone died out on me. so was humming to myself on the way back. HAHAHA.

Day1
was late when we met up at causewaypoint. half an hour to be exact. haha. but tzeyang was the last to arrive. his couz drove us over to malaysia. had our first meal there at George and the Dragon. ate lamb together with kovan and carrie. liyi and yang's couz robin had fish chips and yang himself had pasta. we had a small cake for liyi as it was her birthday. the dinner was rounded of with dessert. chocolate fudge with ice cream. yum yum.

afterwards we headed to purchase groceries. mummy carrie was gonnna cook for us the following night and she needed ingredients. grabbed everything else we needed like chocolate and drinking water. haha. total amount paid was 140RM. also bought 2 movies district9 ans tsunami. had some funny moments when yang was unlocking the gates as his couz keeps nudgin him with the car and randomly playing with the lights.

at his place we settled down our bags and soon started havin fun on the Wii before calling it a day.

Day2
by the time everyone was up, nearly 11 i think. kov got his pic taken as he was the last to rise. haha. we continued to laze around till 2pm before we headed out to shop. while walking to the main road a kitten followed us. cabbed down to jusco aeon. shopped and had snow ice then resumed our shopping.

that night we got home we set out to prepare dinner. we started bout 8. enjoyed making the preparations. carrie's dish was worth all the wait and yang and his dad grilled chicken too. dinner began at 11, soon after we filled our bellies and drank red wine we bought earlier.

Wii again before sleeping. haha. though its mainly us guys playing late on into the night. resident evil the umbrella chronicles is quite fun. haha.

Day3
woke up around the same time. kov and liyi were up earlier and the prepared breakfast. ham sandwich. after everyone washed up and dressed, yangs dad drove us down to another mall to shop. we had our lunch at secret recipe. another awesome meal capped off with a few slices of cake. haha. we made a few more rounds in the mall, askin the girls to try out dresses and stuff. that night yangs dad brought us to a thai open air restaurant. tomyum, kangkong, mango fish, beancurd and stingray. woo! stuffed.

Day4
ahh, our last day. this time we had to rush a bit the moment we woke up. planned to have a lookie at city square in the afternoon. once we've all packed we made our way down. everyone managed to do some last minute shopping for items then we had dessert at secret recipe again. ordered slices but the meal was partially ruined by poor service. they really took their time in serving us our orders. wats more we were all pressing for time.

we grabbed our bags from the car and cleared the checkpoint in JB. soon we were back in the shores of singapore. haha. i took the bus to kranji with liyi as i was going for jazz band prac while the rest were going towards woodlands.



i had a really good time in JB. more or less cut off from schedules and mails and internet. phone calls and msg were nearly non existant. juz had it free and easy there with buddies. bought a few items there but have to admit, my belly and taste buds were the ones pampered over the course of the whole trip. going to JB only incresed my eating propendency. hahaha

ive been eating a lot this holiday. really need to include sporty activities. GUYS, ORGANIZE SOCCER! fishcake, lets go cycle again! hahaha.

all ive done is eat, sleep surf, band. which is fun. haha. darn, i finished the cookies. better go to sleep. then i'll have a feast in my dreams. hahah. retarded. depending on the time i rise from my slumbr, i hope to make a trip down to px again before mass.

woke up at a decent time, 9am. wanted to leave immediately for peixin but was in a lazy mood. i did leave my place in the end, just before 12. managed to finish Air Force 1 on AXN before i left. met up with rus and ben then we took the saxy ppl out for sectonals. hmm, it was okay. the altos need a lil more things to work on than the other family members. tenors are pretty much stable, can focus on bringing up their junior. the bari is a real enthu player, quite okay too. keep up the good work ppl.

had to rush back to church again coz i overstayed. initially planned to leave by 4. delayed things by 30 min. at least this time i didnt have to take a cab. i arrived on the dot 530 and the priest was juz about to walk to the altar. thank you Lord, i was able to reach there on time. today's homily by visiting priest Father Luke was very meaningful. a few quotes, love should be savoured and appreciated. it's patient and forgiving. when forgiving, the more u should forgive when u feel the opposing party dun deserve it. likewise he also mentions kindness shown does not necessarily have to be for someone who deserves it. this reminds me of ARC. act of Random Kindness. haha.

after mass, i joined family along for dinner. ended up in suntech. ate at pepper lunch and strolled around afterwards. my legs are worn out, practically been on my feet the whole day.

fun

initially we were to head out to east coast park to cycle this friday afternoon. but due to the sudden heavy rain we had to change our course of action. i made my way to bugis instead and had lunch with yubing, madeline and alan at seoul garden. stuffed ourselves and made our shirts stink. bought those 6 bucks tees at bossini where the staff talked and complained too loudly for their own good. haha. of course we can hear them complaining bout the bbq stench, thats why we wanna buy something to change into. juz shuddap, at least we're buying. idiots. haha.

anyhow, seeing the weather was okay, we reverted to the original plan and took the bus down to parkway, to east coast. woo! it took a while to convince maddy to cycle along but we managed to in the end. she and i took the double bike and it was tough to get the momentum going, kept wobbling at the start. but soon we were zooming down the cycling path. hahaha! alan is a reckless cyclist and he nearly crashed into another. haha. lucky it was all alright, no casualties. thats not how u pick up luh, by crashing into them! hahah jk jk!

we had a good time cycling, but it was tiring too. we met up with tzeyang late on and hung out in parkway parade. chit chat and stuff around with sweets and coffee before heading home. haha. fun outing but missed prac though.. again. =/

vacation

exams are over. haha. i think i did okay for all. screwed some parts here and there. should do fine i guess. hopefully score quite high for one or 2? at least above average please for all!

argh! forget bout it! dun have to worry till bout sept 20th +. now juz stick to holiday mood yea! though i have to say,i feel as though ive got lotsa free time on my hands. all that talk of letting loose and havin fun during exam period is gettin kinda dry. haha. feeling bored and juz plain lazy to do stuff. hahahah! wtheck. hmm, give it a while and i'll never almost never feel like going for lessons in sem 2.

so anyway, i cant belieeve i woke up at 9 today? i expected like around the region of 12pm? haha. pleasant surprise but i had to kill time coz band prac only starts at 245 in stgabs. ugh. near half day to keep myself occupied. somehow did it, but overshot and left bout 320. gosh..

it was the usual in exodus band. the saxy section had changes again. ugh. so took them out one by one so hear them out and see wat they can improve on. not too bad, the sec 1s kinda promising. the sec 2, pushed to bari, is not spiteful, still enthu. good! he's gonna do fine. improved well since i last saw him. the sec 3s the usual, juz dun slack like me. haha!

after their prac the band had a celebration for all the september babies. so we had cake. now thats new, why didnt we have that last year.. haha. it was pretty cool that these things occur in band, helps bring everyone closer i guess. and enjoy band prac (thats wat they say). bribery. haha. the downside on my visit though was that its their last prac before resuming in mid oct after the sa2s. bummer.
