GOLD WITH HONOURS. TOP BAND

after watching peixin clinching honours twice and stgabs retaining the gold, i was anticipating this NBC a lot. 3 years it was since i played in a competition band. i was in bliss in p6, merely joyful upon getting gold in 2004. disappointed but my heart wasn't in the band as much yet as i was only sec 1 and we achieved silver the following year. i teared in sec 3 when we got that gold in 2007 for exodus which eluded the previous batches since 1999. this day eclipsed even that.

we went through a crazy month which i feel made us stronger and more accepting and appreciating for one another. countless hours over and over the same two pieces. leading a double life trying to keep up in class. but the efforts nonetheless was totally worth it. the two bands results were 85%, got me anxious. a single percentile was enough to send us all screaming. 86.33% is such a blissful figure. not only a Gold with Honour but also making SPSB the top band in the open division. i'll never forget this night. screamed my lungs out in triumph as we roared as a band. the tears which signified our passion and love for the band, the music we performed, freely escaped.

i absolutely have this special place in my heart for the band. further strengthened after this accomplishment. thank you mr chiang and mr tan for leading us. all the members, we were imbal. my section for juz being the most saxy people on earth.
